Resourceful Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Australia’s most respected electricity transmission operators in their search to identify an experienced Stakeholder Manager. They will take a leading role on a landmark multi-billion dollar HV greenfield project on a two year fixed term contract (with the possibility of ongoing work).

The Opportunity

Join a respected electricity transmission operator that is responsible for a high voltage electricity transmission network. They are the central link in the electricity supply chain, transporting high voltage electricity from the generators to the electricity distribution networks. With the recent acknowledgment of the project approval for this multi-billion dollar greenfields development, it has led to the requirement for an experienced Interface Manager.

Reporting into the Project Director, you will be the linchpin between the company’s project team and all external project stakeholders. Your wealth of project development experience along with your ability to influence will ensure all facets of the project, including the deliverables external service providers consistently align with the overarching project objectives. To be truly effective in this high profile position, you must demonstrate superior influencing skills, a mastery level negotiation skills and a proven knowledge of the varying protocols across state Government legislation and approvals.

The Project

They have embarked on a mega $2B+ greenfields project which includes 650km of HV transmission lines, various new major substations and associated infrastructure that extends across New South Wales. The complexity of this project is unprecedented, yet once completed will unlock the full capacity of the expanded Snowy Hydro Scheme and enable greater sharing of energy between the eastern states.

Your key accountabilities:

  • Manage the interfaces between the project team ensuring optimal project development and the program is set up for successful procurement and delivery
  • Provide input into contract development to maximise efficiencies in the delivery of the programs projects, and resolving issues and conflicting requirements in a timely manner
  • Manage the interface between the project and third parties in the early works project development delivery phase and later on in the construction and commissioning of the project
  • Development of the project management interface control systems, and the interface with third party systems and operations
  • Liaise with project functions leads to resolve technical issues across interfaces as necessary

Key Requirements:

  • Degree qualifications in electrical or civil engineering, project management or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
  • A minimum 12 years’ experience working on complex, major linear infrastructure projects and mega projects (some project experience MUST be NSW-specific)
  • Extensive experience working in a commercial environment, with a capacity to demonstrate strong commercial acumen, understanding of commercial success drivers and able to document those interfaces in tender documents.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading the development and implementation of the third party interface agreements for major infrastructure projects
  • Experience with and a sound understanding of the legislation, policy, processes and practices involved in planning for and delivering major projects within a regulated setting
  • An ability to identify priorities; the drive to get things done; and the personality to work effectively as the interface between project leads and third parties
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team
  • People management skills in the context of managing various stakeholders in a matrix type organisational structure
