Australian Catholic University (ACU) is an inclusive community which welcomes students and staff of all beliefs. The Marketing and External Relations (MER) Portfolio, under the direction of the Director of MER, encompasses Communications and Creative Services, Future Students and Advancement, Digital Experience and Strategy and Planning.
The Events Coordinator is responsible for the management and delivery of local and national ACU events such as Open Day, high profile external stakeholder events, virtual events and Honorary Doctorate events and graduations. As a member of the Events team, this position is responsible for events hosted by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President (OVCP) and creating internal connections with institutes, directorates and departments in order to provide event support.

More specifically the role entails:
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver ACU events with an emphasis on events for the Office of the Vice-Chancellor & President ensuring high quality delivery in accordance with University procedures and service standards
  • Assist the National Manager, Events by contributing to the development and documentation of ACU Event processes including the Events Guide to allow staff to implement their own events, the National Events Calendar and actively participate as a member of the events team contributing to the operational planning and improvement of processes while providing support to colleagues.
  • Independently apply University protocols and procedures relating to VIP speakers and guests to ensure all requirements are met to a high standard.
You will need to have:
  • A relevant undergraduate degree and experience in events and/or project management.
  • A minimum two years event experience, preferably in the government or tertiary education sector.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a number of events / projects at one time, achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines in a high pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to a brief and deliver high level, professional events in a tight timeframe.

Total remuneration valued to $93,237 - $100,193 pa, including salary component $78,786 - $84,664pa (Higher Education Worker Level 6), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
