The client

Located in Brisbane city, my client is a well known and immediately recognisable global company within the mining and resources sector who boast a collaborative and fast paced environment with ongoing opportunities for contracting staff.

You will be working within the company's Global Procurement team who develops the Procurement strategy and central support for common initiatives that include source-to-contact process ownership, contractor management, sustainability, governance and supplier partnership.

This newly created role is key to a transformation project focussed on the way this client engages and manages its vendor relationships globally.

The role

The focus of this role is improving the way vendors are engaged by the organisation's Business Units globally. Working with business representatives, procurement professionals and consulting partners you will participate in designing the new business process and its subsequent implementation into the business.

A key component of vendor onboarding is the vendor approval process. You will govern the operation and be accountable for the continuous improvement of this approval process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Vendor approval process
  • Vendor relationships representative on the project
  • Monthly compliance reporting of approvers within Procurement and communicating to PMOs
  • Monthly reporting of new vendors created by company code and category
  • Quarterly review of process with PMO leads
  • Quarterly internal review with Procurement governance, P2P and Vendor relationships
  • Half Yearly regulatory reporting for AU and UK payment performance reporting
  • General process queries
  • Leading small project teams

About you.... You will have:

  • Experience typically achieved through graduate qualifications, and at least 10 years relevant experience in procurement - in particular vendor onboarding
  • Experience interpreting internal or external business issues, and the ability to recommend solutions/best practices
  • Proven experience in solving complex problems by suggesting innovative solutions through taking a broad perspective
  • Experience in guiding others in resolving complex issues in specialised areas based on existing solutions and procedures
  • Experience collaborating and working with business leaders and strategy peers in managing business strategy implementation projects
  • Ability to engage with senior level stakeholders as well as train and mentor staff
  • Demonstrated ability to be agile in a changing environment
  • Demonstraeted experience in large global transformation projects
