About the Role:

Sun Engineering is still looking for Boilermakers and Welders for an immediate start at our Steel Fabrication facility in Carole Park, Ipswich, Queensland!

We are performing workshop-based steel fabrication work, involving plate steel structures and components, and also aluminium structural work.

We are also considering 2nd class Welders and Boilermakers! So if you have a history in steel fabrication or welding, no matter how limited, be sure to apply so we can consider where we can fit you in!

We are offering both Permanent and Casual positions, see 'Additional Information' below for rates of pay for both.


Boilermakers:

  • Structural fabrication experience preferred
  • Plate work experience preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret workshop drawings
  • Heavy aluminium structural fabrication experience an advantage
  • Cert III Boilermaker Qualification preferred - uncertified fabricators will still be considered!
  • Able and willing to weld also preferred


Welders:

  • Must be able to weld using Solid and Flux Core welding wire
  • Workshop welding experience preferred
  • Relevant welding qualifications preferred - uncertified welders will still be considered!
  • Uncertified welders may be asked to pass a short weld test to demonstrate capability


All applicants must be able to attend a short interview if requested.

All applicants must be able to provide references.


Additional Information:

  • Permanent rate $31.08 p/h
  • Casual rate $38.85 p/h
  • PLUS penalties - plenty of overtime including Saturdays
