Open Minds is a registered NDIS provider with more than 500 employees across 35 locations. We are seeking passionate and talented individuals aligned to our values to help us deliver on our purpose.

We are currently looking for an experienced care team leader with extensive operations experience in the mental health sector to work with our support teams across a number of SIL house locations within the Brisbane Metro area. 

Reporting to the Area Manager Metro, and based out of the Capalaba hub, this full-time permanent front-line leadership role will be responsible for the following:

  • Building a high performing and positive team culture that focusses on client centric service delivery goals using evidence-based practices.
  • Inspiring your team, supporting and guiding the Support Workers in the delivery of recovery-oriented practice.
  • Establishing and maintain positive relationships with the clients, families, carers, and employers.
  • Managing the resourcing, recruitment, onboarding and quality management to meet our clients’ needs.
  • Achieving and exceeding a number of performance-based outcomes to time and budget.
  • Supporting client satisfaction and ensure clients are appropriately supported in their needs.
  • Maximising productive hours for direct reports.

 Key requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar frontline leadership role – preferably within mental health, child protection, or community services sector.
  • Significant experience in delivering high-quality mental health, disability and/or community services.
  • Knowledge of Complex Care, Restrictive Practices, Positive Behaviour Support Plans (highly desirable and therefore should be clearly identified in your application).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to think and act quickly on your feet.
  • Demonstrated experience at successfully managing and resolving escalating situations and a high level of adaptability.
  • Financial literacy – understanding balance statements, maintaining budgets, managing costs and maximising staff utilisation through the use of effective rostering practices.
  • Current knowledge of NDIS funding and processes is highly advantageous.
  • Current approved Blue Card and Yellow Card 
  • Drivers Licence + own vehicle + full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance. 
  • Candidates with clinical background would be highly regarded.

This position is graded at Award Level 5.
