JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a newly created role for an agile, private investment and development group in Brisbane. They have secured key development sites and are experiencing a rapid growth phase as projects move towards DA. With a degree in construction, engineering, project management or urban development, combined with several years relevant industry experience, this is a rare chance to join a development company where you will gain exposure to all facets of the development process and work with a vastly experienced Director.


The group undertakes a range of development projects, and they’re currently involved in bringing a number of sites throughout South East Queensland to market, including; commercial mixed-use, industrial and tourism-retail-accommodation opportunities. The business is also looking for further acquisitions where there are opportunities to add value for buyers and investors, whilst enhancing local community outcomes. The business actively invests their own capital with the long-term strategy to hold completed assets with investment returns.


Working closely with the Director, you will initially be involved in assisting with the DA submission on a $100M+ development project that will be delivered over multiple stages. The development is well supported by the local community and will activate new jobs, businesses and community initiatives. Elements of the site will include tourism, retail, hospitality and accommodation, engaging with local producers and agriculture sectors.


The Assistant Development Manager will provide support to the Director with an array of responsibilities that may include the following:

  • Assist in preparing site acquisition and development feasibility studies;
  • Assist in preparing documentation during planning and approvals;
  • Assist in finalising detailed design, engineering and construction documentation;
  • Updating drawing registers with current versions;
  • Assist in preparing tender and contractor documentation;
  • Attending and minuting meetings documenting agenda items for follow up;
  • Assist in preparing sales and marketing collateral for various developments;
  • Coordinate with various consultants, Statutory Authorities, main contractors and suppliers;
  • Liaise with Councils, Utilities and other Statutory Authorities to obtain relevant approvals;
  • Liaise with potential tenants, property and leasing agents

The group is looking for a degree qualified property development, and or construction professional who will thrive in a role that presents different challenges every day, pushes your problem-solving capabilities and also calls on good people skills to negotiate positive outcomes for the projects. The position requires someone with focused attention to detail, a structured approach to managing systems and process, strong follow up skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Your background in construction or engineering project management and knowledge of land and built form will be a positive addition to the team.
