Souths Sports Club is owned by the Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) Limited the premier thoroughbred racing venue in Queensland.


Souths Sports Club requires well presented, customer service focused staff. We are recruiting for the following positions Bar, Gaming, Bistro and Bus Drivers.


It is expected that all BRC employees actively align with our core values of work, health & safety, honesty, recognition, teamwork, improvement, initiative and customer service.


Bar, Gaming & Bistro Staff: * Hands on experience preparing and serving drinks

  • To deliver on selling options to patrons to enhance sales and the customers experience.
  • To manage the cash register function including handling cash, credit and EFTPOS transactions, membership card transactions.
  • To ensure the cleanliness, safety and hygiene of the meal areas at all times.
  • To manage opening, set up and closing procedures as per daily checklists.
  • Work hours as per roster.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffees
  • Collect glasses from tables and place them in glass washing machines
  • Wipe down tables
  • Collect payment, operate cash registers and give change
  • Clean bar service area and polish glasses
  • Ensure the work environment complies with the Workplace Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, fairness and co-operation in all aspects of the above responsibilities.
  • Other duties as request by the Duty Manager.
General (applies to all duties):

Bus Driver * To adhere to all relevant legislation for the operation of a Courtesy Bus for a Licensed Club.
  • To transport patrons to and from the Club, regularly checking bookings, other driver’s location and reception for additional bookings.
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the buses and to complete the daily checklists as required by transport department, including, faults register, daily checklist and complaints register.
  • Maintain the road worthiness of the buses and to monitor the contents of the Fair Aid kit on board the bus.
  • Provide information and advice to patrons about the Clubs events and special promotions.
  • Report any maintenance issues or defects requiring attention to the Duty Manager via the relevant reporting form.
  • Assist with the setting up and packing down of functions and the general cleanliness of all club areas including glassy duties and the collection of plates and cutlery from tables.
  • To assist with the restocking of the bottle shop area and with reception duties as requested and required.
  • Liaise with reception by telephone (using hands free kit at all times) for additional booking and/or instruction.
  • Ensure the work environment and all maintenance tasks comply with Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
  • Work hours as per roster.
  • Other duties as requested by the Duty Manager.

. Possession of current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol

  • Possession of RSA & RSG or the ability to undertake
  • Drivers License - Clean
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to answer all guests enquiries
  • High level of organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional grooming and presentation
  • Willingness to use initiative and solve problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills
