JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary purpose of the Practice Development Manager role is to implement tools and programs for customers to identify, develop and drive opportunities to maximise the promotion of Advanced Technologies to their patients. The role will also identify opportunities and optimise the referral pathway with a focus on referrers and Ophthalmologists to optimise the patient journey and outcomes.

The Practice Development Manager will;

  • Work collaboratively with the Regional Sales Manager to identify opportunities within the defined territory.
  • In collaboration with IOL Product Marketing, develop external communication specifically targeted to key professional segments
  • In alignment with IOL Product Marketing and the International Marketing Group (IMG), develop and finalise educational assets for both ophthalmologists, clinical and practice support staff and optometrists as appropriate
  • Execute Optometrist engagement and education programs
  • Work with Ophthalmic clinic management and practice staff
    • On patient identification and retention, to develop appropriate in practice tools and patient education resources
    • To build awareness of current barriers to cataract surgery referral and financial impacts
  • Engage with Ophthalmic clinic management to monitor agreed KPIs
  • Engage with target referrer optometrists to;
    • Conduct training and in-practice coaching which involves;
      • Assessing practice development needs and requirements of the customers and audience
      • Clinical hands-on training on IOL technologies and patient expectations
      • Best practice sharing to improve patient outcomes and referral pathway optimisation
      • Post-training customer clinical support and communication to maintain optometrists’ confidence with review of outcomes
      • Completing reports for Managers and Marketing
      • Event ROI monitoring, reporting and post event account follow up
  • Develop KOL engagement plans specific to Advanced Technologies
  • Drive attendance to ophthalmology hosted referrer education events
  • Develop and deliver practice development sessions at sales conferences including pre-reads, presentations and workshops
  • Develop and finalise educational assets for both ophthalmologists, staff and optometrists as appropriate
  • Co-ordinate CPD applications and manage auditable requirements for CPD events
  • Analyse and report on event-based KPIs
  • Execute post-event ROI analysis and adjust to maximise
  • Co-ordinate post-event attendee follow up to maximise ROI
  • Be responsible for monitoring and tracking A&P/T&E spend, ensuring budgets are not exceeded
  • Work with the IOL product managers to develop practice tools and feedback key learnings and future tools

Minimum/Essential Qualifications

Degree in Optometry or Orthoptics

Minimum Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the optometric and/or ophthalmic industries, ideally both
  • Solid understanding of the referral pathway for cataract surgery
  • Practice management and business development experience in optometry and/or ophthalmology
  • Understanding of key MS Office applications, particularly MS PowerPoint and Excel
