In response to continued growth, we are now looking for Senior Power Systems Engineers to join the Power team. Located in Perth you will work with a team of highly experienced engineers and project managers and be engaged our local, interstate and global operations.

This position offers good variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Develop and significantly grow GHD’s presence and market share across the power industry, in particular the power systems planning and analysis
• Provide support to power projects being delivered across Australia
• Develop power system models and configure them to comply with the local and national regulations
• Generate models, studies and reports for network services providers, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), developers and industrial clients.
• Support project managers and bid coordinators to prepare successful proposals for wining new work
  
  

What You Will Bring To The Team

• Electrical engineering degree with specialisation in power systems
• More than 2 years’ experience in power system analysis and planning and a demonstrated knowledge of WA Wholesale Electricity Market and Australian National Electricity Rules
• Proven experience with a focus on transmission system planning, power system modelling and dynamic analysis
• Knowledge and experience with primary and secondary system protection, transient stability, load flow and fault analysis, transmission system planning, generator connection and performance assessment, renewable's integration, excitation system and power system stabilizer tuning
• Broad experience in transmission systems analysis, including load flow, transient stability, small signal stability and voltage stability studies
• Power systems software expertise including PSS/E, PSCAD, Digsilent Powerfactory, Matlab, Simulink and Python
• In this client-facing role, you will need solid communication, report-writing skills and be comfortable attending project and stakeholder meetings.
