About The Role

As an Oracle Developer here at Magia, you will be involved in the full Software Development Lifecycle where you will develop, test, and deploy code in a variety of programming environments. You will be responsible for the delivery of development application components and work packages for existing or new Oracle applications (Apex and Forms based). Working within the Magia Support team this role works collaboratively with a team of development specialists and other key specialists including business analysts and testers. This role will see you support the build and management of business applications, implementation of new features in a highly collaborative environment with product managers, engineers, and administrators.

• Working within the Managed Service team to support our customers. You will be based in Perth with the opportunity to work in our head office, on site at our customers and also some travel interstate if required.
  
  

Some Of The Key Accountabilities Of This Role Include

• completing the design and delivery of Oracle Apex related software changes to meet the changing needs of business units
• ensuring that the specification and design of Oracle Apex related software changes meets the defined business needs, align with enterprise and solution architectures and complies with standards
• undertaking upgrade and development activities through the selection of appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively
• impact and risk analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks.
  
  

About You

You will have 3-5 years’ experience as an Oracle Developer, with experience supporting APEX development. You enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of writing elegant and efficient code. You will come with knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g. agile software development, continuous deployment, behaviour-driven development, design documentation, infrastructure as code, etc.) Some of your technical experience may include:

• 3-5 yrs Hands-on Oracle development experience
• An understanding of Oracle databases and SQL
• Ability to generate data fixes for known issues
• Knowledge of the code deployment process
• An aptitude for problem-solving, abstract- & critical-thinking
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (desirable)
