Amazon is looking for a smart and driven Startup Development Manager to help startups and brand owners from around the world bring their new, innovative products on Amazon.com.au.

Amazon Launchpad is a unique program showcasing cutting-edge products from entrepreneurs, making it easy for them to sell, market, and launch products to millions of our customers.

The Startup Development Manager is responsible for initiating and developing strong relationships with Launchpad Selling Partners (SPs). They balance their time between onboarding and strategically managing new SPs, while also developing and owning the broader recruitment strategy and goals for Launchpad across Amazon Australia.


The Startup Development Manager will also be responsible for driving projects and setting processes to drive the success of Launchpad in Australia. They will work with various stakeholders and teams across the Amazon organisation both locally and internationally.

Operating in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment the successful candidate will be required to work autonomously, taking responsibility for achieving business objectives. This role provides a real opportunity to develop original ideas, approaches, and solutions in a competitive and ever changing business climate.

Roles and Responsibilities
· Design detailed, data-driven lead generation and recruitment strategies to launch innovative startups/brand owners through Amazon Launchpad
· Drive launch negotiations with SPs and hand manage them through to launch
· Jointly develop business plans with SPs and methodically execute these to drive growth
· Evangelise the Launchpad program both internally and externally, ensuring goals are met
· Work closely with Launchpad leadership, PR, Marketing and SP Success teams to promote Launchpad SPs and build out a unique suite of benefits for the Launchpad program
· Relay market needs and requirements back to internal Amazon teams including Launchpad leadership, Product Management, Technical and Category Management teams
· Analyse industry and internal data to understand customer trends and identify product range opportunities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree
· 4+ years professional experience working in business development/account management roles
· Passionate about online business, e-commerce, startups, and business development
· Able to work autonomously, taking responsibility for achieving your business development targets
· Self-motivated and results driven
· Proven ability to develop successful relationships with internal and external partners
· Project management experience
· Demonstrated ability of solving problems and business challenges through analysis and using data
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex concepts simply
· Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in outbound sales
· Experience with e-commerce or retail
· Experience using Salesforce or other CRM tools
· Ability to work with legal, product, and internal business owners to reach mutually beneficial agreements
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others
· Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
· Creative, has initiative, and can constructively advocate on behalf of the customer
