It is with this spirit that we are driving hypergrowth and international expansion and are looking for a new Engineering Manager.

The role's purpose is to:

  • Develop Go1’s engineering talent and their mastery of agile practices – create an awesome developer experience
  • Manage the skills, capabilities, personal development, training and onboarding of the engineers
  • Manage a small number of uplift projects which the Engineering Manager defines – find the opportunities for improvement: focus, measure, learn and repeat
  • Develop direct reports to help them excel in their current role and pursue their individual career goal
  • Support developers to overcome specific blockers, issues or bugs; ability to step in, alongside the engineer, to find solutions as require
  • Develop and manage a skills matrix for developers- using the 'T-shaped developer' model
  • Collect feedback from working teams and manage reviews and professional development
  • Provide regular engineers engagement reporting (i.e. developer survey) to senior management and expose areas of improvement
  • Own specific projects design to benefit all of engineering
  • Work with other engineering managers and product managers to continually lead and uplift in scrum practic
  • Continue to have enough 'exposure to the code' to be able to contextualise challenges and solution
  • Help Senior Developers to implement and manage best practice for technical design, coding standards and architectural principles


  • At least 5 years team management experience; experience managing larger teams – both in a man management and project or feature delivery capacity
  • At least 3 years in a project management, business analysis or development lead role
  • At least 2 years in the role of Scrum Master or agile practitioner
  • Hands-on experience growing a team – rapidly
  • Hand-on experience working across multiple teams and geographies
  • Technically skilled and ability to design and discuss technical solutions
  • Experience mentoring, developing and supporting developers
