Equis is Asia-Pacific’s leading renewable energy and waste infrastructure developer and operator with a successful track record of having developed over 220 renewable energy and waste infrastructure projects across the region. Since origination, Equis has raised in excess of US$3.9B in private equity. Equis’s investment and divestment track record includes the sale of a USD$5.0B renewables portfolio to GIP in 2017.

Equis recently closed a US$1.25B capital raising and plans to commit over US$2B into renewable energy and waste infrastructure assets across Australia, Japan and South Korea over the next two years and is rapidly expanding its management team of over 60 investment, engineering and development professionals to ensure its success.

Job Description:

  • Prepare complex and detailed investment and transaction financial models and quantitative analysis.
  • Support deals through the due diligence, structuring, credit, documentation, transaction closing stages.
  • Support screening of potential investment opportunities. Including, performing in-depth research and analysis on:
    • Fundamentals/overview of potential investments;
    • General industry research to assist in the identification of opportunities; and
    • Risks evaluation and mitigations of potential investments.
  • Support negotiation with key counterparties, including EPC contractors, financiers and offtakes.
  • Support asset management functions including exploring strategies to create value at the assets level.
  • Support key functions and other ad-hoc tasks of Equis offices in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that reflects the core values of Equis.

Required Attributes:

  • Must have a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor's Degree in Economics/Finance/Business or Engineering ) with at least 18 month in a professional environment, such as a private equity firm, investment bank, project finance, accounting firm, fund manager, or a financial modelling consulting firm. Deal experience will be considered preferable. Previous experience in the energy / infrastructure sector will be viewed favorably.
  • Must demonstrate superior quantitative skills backed by advance modelling capability, including:
  • - Ability to build a model from scratch;
  • - Integrate financial statement into the model; and
  • - VBA (Visual basics) – not a must but viewed favorably.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have an academic qualification in maths, actuarial studies, engineering, finance or accountancy.
  • Must have transaction experience in evaluating, financing and/or undertaking due diligence for investments in the energy / infrastructure industry.
  • A commercial understanding of project finance and the energy / infrastructure industry will be viewed favorable.
  • Completed or ongoing post-graduate qualifications (e.g. CA, CPA or CFA) will be viewed favorably.
  • Independent and critical thinker with strong analytical ability.
  • Exceptional eye for detail.
  • Positive and hungry to perform/excel.
  • Strong ability to remain calm under pressure and think on their feet.
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to confidently interact with senior management, investors and peers.
