Having reached a significant growth stage We are now looking for a General Manager to enable the business to consolidate, systemise and take up the many opportunities available now and in the future. This may include the opportunity to acquire a shareholding in the business in the future for the successful applicant.

A detailed description of the position follows:



Responsible for: Successful growth and management of the business while achieving the required profit forecasts

Reports to: Managing Director

Direct Reports: Other Management Staff


Overall Responsibility

Reporting to the Managing Director, this position will be responsible for the successful growth of Plasteriteqld - as per the Company’s sales and profit forecasts.

You will be expected to lead, inspire and coach a small, but passionate, team in a growth environment and demonstrate the need to develop long term business relationships and loyalty with staff and clients.

This role also has the responsibility to oversee and guide the operations function within the business.


1. Manage and coordinate the following areas of the business in conjunction with the responsible manager / team member.

· Marketing

· Sales

· Operations (Direct Responsibility)

· Human Relations

· Accounting and Administration

· Workplace Health and Safety

2. Prioritise, develop and implement the key strategies for the business as required by the business owners

3. Work closely with the managers and team, on a daily basis, to assist with trouble shooting, problem analysis and solution finding, and where necessary, provide on-the- spot decisions

4. Do whatever is necessary to coach and motivate staff in their daily tasks and provide continual improvement in our business systems – especially in high growth periods

5. Follow up our clients on a regular basis to ensure that they are happy with our product and service – follow through and correct any inconsistencies – long term client relationships are an essential requirement for our business success

6. Ensure that the Operations team exceed industry benchmarks for quality of product, installation and service activities

7. Develop and present sales and financial forecasts for the business - with at least six months in advance

8. Monitor the sales and financial performance of the business and take the necessary steps to ensure that targets are met or exceeded

9. Prepare and present the monthly sales and financial figures and other key performance indicators of the business to the Managing Director

10. Lead and champion the business management system; encourage a performance-based culture focussed on understanding customer needs and achieving results

11. Ensure all system processes are established, implemented and maintained

12. Ensure all required documents are developed and maintained, such as policies, procedures, standards, processes, guidelines and templates

13. Ensure personnel receive appropriate training in all system requirements

14. Provide hands-on assistance, strategic guidance and regular monitoring of service quality and the business management system

15. Report regularly to the director on the performance of the business management system, including improvements required

16. Attend internal and external training and professional courses to continually develop your relevant knowledge, techniques and skills

17. Carry out any other duties required by the Managing Director to enable the business requirements to be met by the Company

18. Carry out your duties and your responsibilities in a manner that ensures that the health and safety of you and your team is maintained and always in accordance with Company policies

· The ability to manage, motivate and bring out the best in a small team of dedicated staff

· A good understanding of the key performance indicators of the business and what is necessary to maintain and improve them

· A technical knowledge of the industry would be helpful but not necessary

· Great communication skills – including presentations to groups of technicians

· Simple and effective selling and negotiation skills

· Excellent computer skills

· A customer service attitude of doing whatever is necessary to provide our clients with what they need

Remuneration Package

A remuneration package consisting of salary, superannuation,, laptop and mobile phone will be negotiated in accordance with the value that the successful candidate can add to our business. A share of profit incentive may also be offered after a qualifying period.
