How Will I Help?

As a Risk Analyst you will be supporting the Exits Team that is responsible for managing the exit process of banking relationship held by high risk customers who are outside of the Westpac Group’s risk appetite and pose serious concerns to the Group. With room for growth, you will be challenged to perform under pressure in this rewarding opportunity. Utilising your strong analytical skills, you will work well to deadlines in a fast paced and developing environment.

You will be required to review customer banking relationships and draft exit letters to notify customers of the Westpac Group’s decision of discontinuing the financial services provided to customers while also sending exit letters to exited customers via AUST POST. You will act as a quality assurance point to ensure the correct exit process is adhered to by conducting peer review of exit letters, arrange account closure, account restriction, profile update, profile cancellation and other exit actions according to the procedure and act as a trainer/mentor to your peers.

You will manage the Exit in Run off report by taking timely actions to close down the new accounts opened by exited customers, manage customer complaints and inquiries through Customer Solutions, Customer Advocacy and the branch network and Contact Business Units, Branches, Relationship Managers and other internal stakeholders to obtain information required to adhere to the exit process and the AML Operations Agreement. Being able to respond and action queries in a timely manner and attach all documentation to the audit log of the case for record keeping purposes is a requirement and you are expected to take accountability for the delivery of Service Level Agreements to ensure all processes are managed accordingly.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorism Finance (AML/CTF) as well as knowledge of banking products and finance. You will be a critical and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to read and interpret information and apply to the relevant controls as well as excellent time management and the ability to meet key performance indication. You will also have the ability to manage and deal with highly confidential and sensitive information in an ethical and responsible manner.
