We provide a range of services across technical platform enablement, data and analytics, and experimentation and optimisation, and partner with leading marketing technology tools and platforms to deliver best practice data solutions. The Role

Digital Balance is looking for a Senior MarTech Consultant, in Melbourne or Perth, who can lead business engagements with enterprise level clients across technical and data deliverables.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working across a number of our clients to help them get the best results by leveraging their MarTech platforms. You’ll be working across the latest technology (CDPs, CMPs and API-driven integrations) and solving the most interesting business problems (optimisation, cookie-less future). You will provide strategic advice, whilst having a detailed understanding of our clients’ businesses to ensure we deliver on customer ROI. You will be a hands-on advisor with strong interpersonal skills, detailed MarTech product knowledge, and ideally would have worked both as a client yourself and in a consulting role for a number of years. However, we are open to those with a more generalist technical background who want to transition into the MarTech space.

To be effective in this position, you must feel comfortable owning the relationship with a portfolio of clients, working onsite if required or offsite as part of the wider DB team. You must have a passion for learning new technologies, being creative in your thinking and solutioning, and have an innate ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain key relationships with a portfolio of clients by delivering a range of innovative marketing technology solutions in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Deliver and present technical and data strategies and recommendations to maximise the return on investment in digital platforms, process and teams.
  • Operate with a consultative and strategic approach to deliver holistic solutions encompassing data, people and process.
  • Act as a key part of the initial engagement with client, establish a presence, and be able to lead and guide the ongoing relationship.
  • Produce clear business benefits and demonstrable value by delivering against the objectives and expectations of our clients.
  • Drive the progress and delivery of a project from its initial inception to completion (and beyond) across diverse stakeholders.
  • Develop and produce technical documentation connecting multiple platforms and services as per the client requirements.
  • Develop and produce code artifacts to conduct the functionality required of the solution design including data collection and ingestion, ETL, Server to server integrations, and database management.
  • Keep up to date on new technologies, industry trends and innovations to provide informed and relevant recommendations to our team and our clients.

Essential Qualifications and skills


  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, IT, Computer Science or Engineering
  • Knowledge of, and ideally certification in, leading Marketing technology platforms such as Adobe Experience Cloud, Google Marketing Cloud, and Tealium.
  • 3+ years' working for a consultancy in a hands-on role and/or experience working as a client in a similar capacity.
  • 3+ years of front end development skills with practical vanilla JavaScript experience, ideally.
  • 3+ years experience with common front end frameworks, backend programming languages or mobile app development.
  • Experience in presenting business and technical solutions to clients and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of SQL and database relationship management, having worked with large and complex data sets, an advantage.
  • Sales and business development experience, an advantage
  • Ability to travel (Average 50%, may be higher or lower based on the client engagement)
  • Demonstrated ability to represent Digital Balance at conferences or create white papers on key industry topics quarterly.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
