  • Temporary full time opportunity until June 2022, based in Parramatta NSW

About the role
Join our Place, Design and Public Spaces (PDPS) group as a Project Officer in the Public Spaces Division, a newly formed team responsible for delivering improved public spaces within NSW.

It's a truly exciting time to join the Department. We're backing the state's post-pandemic recovery with world-class reforms and initiatives to keep people in jobs, the economy moving and build a public space legacy for generations to come.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake special projects including grant administration, partnership projects, research, data collection, stakeholder mapping and policy advice.
  • Providing project management and support services including drafting and monitoring project plans and providing thoughtful, consistent and practical advice to support scope changes, governance, compliance and risk issues.
  • Manage and coordinate project documents such as briefing papers, reports, submissions and responses to information requests.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have prior experience in supporting planning and delivery or urban renewal, planning or management of public spaces.

Ideally, you will also have an understanding of, or experience in, grant administration as well as a Tertiary qualification in research, project management, or equivalent experience.

You will be a confident communicator who can develop strong networks with all stakeholders. You will also be confident in managing workload and priorities whilst balancing competing demands.
