About the Role:
Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced ICT Support Officer to be responsible for providing a high level of technical expertise to support and maintain a stable technology environment for our staff across offices in Canberra and Sydney. As a member of a small and disciplined team, you will need to be flexible and committed providing innovative and fit for purpose solutions to support the delivery of strategic and operational outcomes.
Key Duties
- As the first point of contact, answer and respond to ICT Service desk support calls, emails, or walk-up enquiries, logging requests and resolving moderately complex issues and make decisions on when more complex matters are escalated for resolution.
- Contribute to the completion of the ICT Service Desk workload, including resolution of incidents and requests, ensuring progression and maintaining set priorities, keeping customers and team members informed and up-to-date, and where applicable informing relevant ICT team members of issues, or potential problems and proposed solutions.
- Provide training and support to staff in the effective use of software applications.
- Prepare and maintain system support documentation.
- Undertake systems administration and maintenance of the Office’s network, including user account management.
- Undertake the installation and configuration of ICT hardware and software installations.
- Assist with the maintenance of the Office’s intranet and internet websites.
Criteria:
- Proven experience, a good knowledge and necessary skills to provide help desk services and to assist in the maintenance of the Office’s ICT environment.
- Strong client focus and a commitment to provide efficient and effective client services.
- Well-developed liaison and communications skills including the ability to communicate appropriately orally and in writing with staff at all levels including the Governor-General and with contractors and consultants. Exercise tact and discretion.
- Ability to work as part of a small team, be well organised, and be able to meet competing deadlines.
- Experience in/or the ability to learn the following:
- Windows 10 Operating System
- Office 2013/2016
- Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Azure
Australian Citizens with a Negative Vetting 1 clearance desirable
