Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Eastern Health operates five pharmacy departments (Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Peter James Centre, and Wantirna Health). Our enthusiastic team of pharmacists and technicians are dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based care to our patients at the time they are most needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified pharmacy technician to join our COVID-19 Vaccination team. The successful applicant will form part of the vaccination team, performing technical support duties as permitted by the Victorian Pharmacy Authority and assist in the provision of COVID-19 vaccines to recipients.

Depending on experience, the applicant may be required to participate in a rotation at any of our sites based on mutual agreement.

The positions include (but not limited to):

• be part of the COVID-19 vaccination team


• the opportunity to participate in medicine distribution from purchasing to imprest, dispensing and extemporaneous manufacturing


• compounding aseptic and chemotherapy in a modern, purpose built facility

About you 

To be successful in the positions, you should possess:

• have completed a Certificate 3 in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) (Desirable)


• have experience as a Pharmacy Technician


• have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team

Other skills that are desirable, but not essential, include:

• aseptic manufacturing skills including in the Laminar Air Flow (LAF) and Cytotoxic (Downflow) setting


• experience with Merlin software for dispensing and stock management
