About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced casual Reservations Consultant to join our team at Journey Beyond Cruises, Darwin. This is a casual position for the duration of the Top End Dry Season (April through to Mid-December 2021) with training commencing in March 2021. This position is primarily responsible for the warm and friendly reception and customer service for all our guests including reservations and groups bookings, sales and general office administration ensuring our continued success and growth.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with daily office and customer service operations including guest check-ins, sales, customer service, cash handling and banking;
  • Providing exceptional customer service delivery for guests and other stakeholders;
  • A key focus on driving direct bookings and sales;
  • The sale and processing of all Darwin Harbour Cruises tours and services;
  • The completion of general administration duties; and
  • The communication and liaison with suppliers, departments and external agents to provide up-to date information about all services on offer.

About You

The ideal candidate will be passionate about service delivery and be willing to go above and beyond for our guests motivated to create ongoing memorable and unique guest experiences. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive "can-do" attitude, and have flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and public holidays.


  • Excellent customer service and sales skills with a minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a similar role;
  • A sound understanding of the tourism industry, as well as reservation sales systems and processes,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill set as well as presentation skills,
  • Ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders,
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to a frequently changing market environment; and
  • Experience in working within sales targets and KPIs.
