As we scale across countries and borders, the Hmlet Operations Team is critical to providing our members with a seamless and joyful experience. As a vital member of our Operations Team, you will be responsible for the quality of operations for the assigned location of your scope of work. You will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all Hmlet units and bedrooms within Sydney.

You will be responsible for:

  • Attending to member queries and complaints in a timely manner
  • Being hands-on for general repairs such as simple carpentry, lighting, painting, plumbing and other general operational repairs & maintenance
  • Managing corrective and preventive maintenance of building equipment and electronic devices such as digital door locks
  • Conducting general upkeep procedures and inspection of rooms for defects and assisting in repairing the defects, for example, ensuring drains are not blocked
  • Regular reporting of maintenance issues and repairs in our properties ensuring property furniture and fixtures are in good condition 
  • Managing the purchasing of parts as instructed by the operations team 
  • Assisting in incident reporting to the management team when required 
  • Doing necessary unit repairs during a small gap of time that a room is vacant between member moving out and new member moving in 
  • Anticipating major technical incidences by proactively reporting situations and doing the repairs on time and professionally

The skills, attitude and experience we require are:

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in the relevant department or as a maintenance officer
  • Must have relevant hands-on experience in building or ideally of trade background
  • Resourceful, proactive and a team player 
  • High attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time
  • Basic to good interpersonal and communication skills, English required
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer knowledge to receive tickets and manage a daily schedule of tasks
  • Able to work quickly and under pressure 
  • Drivers licence and own vehicle
  • Hold an OHS white card
