The Role 

In this fixed-term full-time role, based in Camberwell, you will be responsible for providing clinical care to acute inpatient rehabilitation orthopaedic and musculoskeletal patients. You will be part of the Epworth Rehabilitation Occupational Therapy team and report to the Deputy Manager of Occupational Therapy. New graduates with relevant placement experience are also invited to apply.

You will make an impact by:

  • Assessing patient performance within the hospital or home environment, and determining appropriate intervention and treatment to promote participation and independence
  • Actively seeking to understand patients' and their family's circumstances to enable the best outcome during inpatient stay and on discharge
  • Contributing to the development and modification of clinical services to meet patient and hospital requirement
  • Providing clinical leadership, and demonstrating consolidated skills that can be utilised to educate other occupational therapists, peers and students

To be successful in this role…

You will have strong communication skills and a supportive and engaging style that enables you to easily build rapport with your team, key stakeholders, patients and their families. You keep up-to-date with best practice and have a passion for enhancing the patient experience through innovation.

You will have

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Knowledge of TAC, VWA, DVA and private health insurance
  • Experience in an inpatient hospital setting
  • Previous experience working within a team model of care and will be passionate about achieving high quality clinical outcomes
