The Social work department at Redland hospital are looking for a Social Worker to join their team.The Social Work Department is a dynamic, talented team of approximately 11 social workers and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hospital Liaison Officer. The Social Work Department provides a range of clinical services with inpatients and outpatients, including a number of specialised services across Redland Hospital, Redland Residential Care and the Wynnum Manly Palliative Care Unit.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to deliver high level social work services within the medical and surgical wards of Redland Hospital to optimise psychosocial outcomes for patients. This role may also provide social work services across other wards/units of Redland Hospital and Redland Residential Care.

This includes:
Detailed clinical assessment, patient education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with discharge planning within a multi-disciplinary context.
Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.
Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.
