The Correctional Manager, Food Services is responsible for overseeing the operations of the correctional centre's food services function and for ensuring efficient and cost effective service delivery.

The essential requirements for this role are:
Human resource management as it applies to the management of a multi-disciplinary team

Experience and understanding of case management in a human services field

Financial and resource management in the monitoring of budgets in accordance with financial requirements

Knowledge of food safety standards and associated legislation and ability to apply this including the implementation and compliance with procedures and policies

Demonstrated experience in managing a large scale catering operation

Knowledge in the safe use and maintenance of food and food service equipment

Staff management skills and experience including knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to implement contemporary human resource management practices including the provision of performance assessment and feedback

Interpersonal skills for negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, who often have competing interests, on sensitive and complex issues

Organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines

Demonstrated communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills for liaising with management and staff at all levels, to gain commitments and negotiate service delivery, priorities, deadlines, resources and other relevant issues

Demonstrated experience using a wide range of computer programs and applications and information management systems

Provide ability to build rapport to establish constructive, effective and positive working relationships with people at all organisational levels
