The Role
Baptist Care SA is currently seeking qualified Support Workers for casual and part-time positions, who can provide holistic care and support to our clients in Mt Gambier. This is a challenging and highly rewarding role, where you are given the responsibility to provide high quality care and support to a range of clients with disability, diverse backgrounds, and needs. With multiple placements opening in the Limestone Coast region we are striving to form passionate and consistent support teams. Duties will include,
Managing and responding to difficult and at times aggressive behaviours
Working as a team to tailor support to meet individual NDIS client needs
Completing administration tasks including case notes, mandatory reporting, and handovers
Domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and cooking
The Person
We are looking specifically for candidates who have worked with children and young people with disability. Our ideal candidate has demonstrated experience proving trauma informed care and a client-centred approach. Your passion for supporting and empowering vulnerable and at-risk young people will allow you facilitate long-lasting positive change. With high levels of perseverance you will advocate for our clients to prioritise their wellbeing.
Minimum qualifications
Cert IV in Disability (must have a willingness to complete additional qualifications in child and youth)
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention
Certificate IV in Youth Work
Certificate IV in Community Services
Specific employment requirements
Provide First Aid (HTLAID003)
Safe Environments for Children and Young People
Full unrestricted South Australia Driver’s Licence
Valid DHS Child-related employment screening
Ability to work in various locations across the Limestone Coast region.
Ability to work a minimum of three shifts across a 24/7 roster
Certificate IV in Disability (desired)
Successful applicants will be required to
Complete and pass a legislatively mandated Psychological Suitability Assessment
Complete a Road Worthy certificate and be willing to drive clients for work purposes
