Position summary
Downer is one of Australia’s largest and most experienced providers in the Power Systems and Infrastructure Projects market. We have successfully secured several Transmission Lines and Substation infrastructure projects and we are now seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to support delivery of a large transmission line project within the Power Systems team in South Australia.
Our transmission business is now seeking to engage the capability of an experienced Project Planner. This role will report to the Project Controls Manager and will be based in our Adelaide office in South Australia with an option to travel to site if requested. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-driven Project Planner to work on a large transmission project to optimise construction programs and claim processes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Prepare detailed and realistic plans, schedules and work method statements for project works using Primavera P6 and MS office.
Accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and consider cost and profit implications, anticipate and adjusts for problems and roadblocks
Identify schedule related risks and opportunities in the process. Review with project managers and construction managers and estimating managers prior to submission.
Assess the effects of deviations from the master project programme including reviewing 3 rd party programmes at the earliest possible time, for evaluation and action by Project and Construction Management.
Deal effectively and appropriately with project stakeholders
Monitor and provide summary, forecast and exception reporting, monthly cash flow reporting, key milestone reporting and variation tracking
ABOUT YOU
Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar.
Significant experience in a similar position preferably within the Construction industry
Proficient with Primavera P6 project management and scheduling.
An understanding of estimating and project management procedures and their implementation.
Commercially savvy with the ability to evaluate information quickly, identifying key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience and common sense
Able to build strong relationships and communicate openly and consistently across a project team.
