PTA Level 4, $82,351 pa (plus 9.50% super)

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is one of the world's largest, and most highly regarded, community-based emergency services organisations. We respond to fire and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Whilst our firefighters are the cornerstone of CFA services, what goes on behind the scenes is just as important in helping to protect lives and property.

Organisational Wellbeing:

Organisational Wellbeing sits within the People, Culture & Safety Directorate and is focused on the provision of strategic direction, support, advice and service provision of psychological health and safety for members. This includes the provision of Welfare Services (Peer Support, Chaplaincy and Psychological/Counselling support), and case management/coaching support for a range of issues impacting on the psychological health and safety of members.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Wellbeing Advisor to work within the Organisational Wellbeing Team, supporting member psychological health and safety with a strong focus on ensuring the delivery of high quality and consistent expert advice to senior leaders and members on both mental health and relationship management components of psychological health and safety. You will provide coaching and guidance to resolve a variety of live issues as well as developing and delivering a range of proactive strategies and services aimed at improving organisational and member resilience. Further detailed responsibilities will include:


• Providing information, advice and guidance to operations and volunteer leaders and members to assist with managing complex relationship and mental health issues.


• Delivery of accurate, timely and effective relationship and mental health management coaching services to members and leaders, with the view to increasing their skills to manage issues now and into the future.


• Development of a range of needs based educational packages with a view to building capability within our members to manage relationship and mental health issues proactively.


• Delivery of a range of facilitated education and information sessions that support relationship and psychological health and safety in CFA both face to face and online.

Please note:


• The role covers the whole of the North East Region of Victoria and will involve travel including some overnight stays and includes a requirement to be on the Wellbeing Support Line duty roster four days per month (with an additional allowance being given for this work).


• This is not a counselling role

About You:

To succeed in this key role, tertiary qualifications in a Mental Health or a Social Sciences related discipline are a clear preference and you will demonstrate significant experience in managing mental health issues along with proven ability to update and maintain knowledge of psychological health and safety. You will helped in this by your excellent communication and interpersonal skills; your demonstrated experience in face to face and virtual education and facilitation and your superior ability at providing expert mental health management advice, coaching and guidance across a broad range of mental health issues. You will be a lateral thinker and a problem solver with the capacity to manage your own resilience and self-care together with the ability to work remotely, on weekends and after hours as required.
