The Role

Ventia is currently seeking to engage a Project Engineer to work on our maintenance contract with the BP Terminal in Kwinana.

This role will see you working in our Tanks department at the terminal supporting the delivery of all Tank Turnaround Maintenance program works. This involves the production of Work Packs per the Tank Project templates for work activities in addition to ensuring all work requirements are identified and deliver any Tank work activities at the BP Refinery in Kwinana. The role includes a substantial amount of time spent in the field supporting the craft team, as well as involvement in planning the works.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all Work Packs contain the right content / information to allow the successful execution of the works onsite.
  • Ensure Tanks are all ready for Implementation, approvals are obtained to not delay the Project. Ensure all Work Packs and Inspection Test Plans reflect the scope of work to be undertaken and all associated HSE, Quality, Procurement, Plant, Equipment, Tooling, Resourcing and Tank Maintenance requirements are satisfied.
  • Continuously improve the quality and accessibility of the Work Pack information.
  • Ensure a successful transition of the Work Pack requirements from development to site implementation and close out.
  • Ensure all Work Packs and Inspection Test Plans are kept up to date and all changes are accounted for in a timely manner.
  • Provide engineering and organisational support to the craft team in the field.
  • Liaise with suppliers to provide assistance to the Mechanical Supervisors on the installation of construction components.
  • Ensure all works are reviewed in accordance with the HSE & Quality Plan.
  • Ensure Quality specifications are in accordance with Company and/or Contract requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the planning team & supporting the craft team.
  • Attend preliminary design reviews as required to provide constructability input.
  • Attend any Risk Assessments and Execution Meetings.
  • Contribute to and foster a positive Team-working environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both BP Management and Site Operations customers.
  • Prepare, maintain and support all Project Document Control.
  • Ensure that own actions and those of your Team and or Sub-Contractors working on site are directed towards a positive customer outcome, by evaluating aspects of Safety, Punctuality, Work Quality, Presentation, Communication and Courtesy towards all Customers.
  • Report all injury and accidents and dangerous occurrences within the hour and investigate and report within 24 hours to the Tanks Lead and / or HSE Lead.
  • Drive a culture of delivering customer and shareholder value.

Key Experiences & Skills

  • Relevant Degree or Tertiary Qualification in the Engineering - Mechanical or Structural disciplines preferred.
  • Experience in Tanks will be highly regarded
  • Experience in developing and managing Workpacks and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Negotiation and Conflict Resolution skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a Team.
  • Demonstrated written, communication, verbal and IT skills.
  • Maintenance and Construction Industry experience.
  • A medium to high level of computer literacy (internet, MS Office applications, database Management, document control).
