What could you bring to HealthShare NSW?

Full Time Permanent position primarily responsible for working with the Senior Tax Accountant and Tax Compliance Manager to ensure all weekly, quarterly and annual tax reporting and payment obligations for all NSW Health entities are delivered. $74,629.22 to $100,390.27 per annum, 38 hours per week.

HealthShare NSW are looking for someone who is knowledgeable with all relevant tax legislation and experienced in preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and other tax lodgement requirements relating to PAYG and payroll taxes. Someone who possesses sound accounting and analytical skills and can interpret complex information from numerous sources, and can prepare and present their analysis, and can use tax reporting tools and software to manage competing demands.

Above all, we are looking for a results-driven, analytical Tax Accountant who can manage themselves and be accountable for ensuring business processes are compliant. Does this sound like you?

About the opportunity

You will be responsible for preparing the monthly BAS for Health entities, , and the annual FBT return for Health entities. You will also be involved in preparing other tax lodgement requirements such as the PAYG withholding annual summary report and Taxable Payments Annual report. You will work closely with the Senior Tax Accountant to provide tax advice to the NSW Health community and assist with the implementation of any tax policies or directives and responding to any queries from external tax authorities such as the Australian Tax Office and NSW Office of State Revenue. This is a Full Time Permanent position graded as a Health Manager Level 1 with an annual salary of $74,629.22 to $100,390.27 (Excl. 9.5% superannuation). Location, Westmead.

How to apply

  • Outline your experience in preparing tax compliance statements such as Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns. In particular, outline your involvement in the preparation/review process and specify any part of the processes that you identified could be improved.
  • Describe a time you had to analyse complex information (preferably tax related) and then explain the situation to a stakeholder(s). What was the complex information, how did you explain it to the other person(s) and how did you ensure that they understood what was required? How did you demonstrate you always had their interests as priority.

You will be asked to complete a psychometric assessment (e.g. personality and cognitive abilities assessments) in the recruitment process for this position.
