About Your Role

Thales Australia Mulwala facility is a chemical manufacturing plant, producing chemicals, propellant and explosives for Defence and commercial sales. The entire complex is a Secure Facility that operates under Federal Government Legislation Security Requirements

Substantial Sections of the Facility operate as High-Risk Areas and are subject to a range of special HSE requirements

The Laundry/Stores Department is responsible for the safe, reliable and continual support of the Mulwala site by laundering all PPE and clothing as well as supporting all other Departments on the Mulwala site through the provision of stores

As a laundry Operator / Stores person this role ensures all PPE, Clothing and other items are laundered according to specification and that specific functions in the stores area are carried out

  • Operating, viewing, monitoring and maintaining a range of laundry equipment and machinery to ensure items being cleaned are cleaned to specification and;

  • Launder all PPE clothing/other (e.g. towels) as required within the facility

  • Follow procedures to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • Wash PPE and Dry PPE, clothing/other (other e.g. towels)

  • Sort laundered clothing for distribution to individual lockers/storage areas

  • Remove soiled and/or damaged PPE clothing from circulation

  • Prepare unwanted clothing for disposal

  • Sewing, make alterations to clothing as required

  • Wash and dry new PPE clothing prior to use

  • Operate computer based industrial embroidery machine

  • Label all new PPE clothing before use (embroidery)

  • Assist in ensuring General Stores Buildings are maintained in a neat and tidy condition, with all stock correctly recorded and stored in accordance with procedures and regulations, including all Dangerous Goods, Hazardous Substances and Explosives (under the control of the Store Section

How About You?

  • Valid Driver’s License a must

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team

  • Demonstrated good communication skills

  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude
