Climate Change Resilience Officer
Community Services Directorate – Climate Hub
Temporary/Part Time (Approx. 4 years)
Location – Proserpine
Level 4 to 5 - $35,700 to $40,300 per annum
The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. The Whitsunday region offers a dynamic environment and is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.
The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Climate Change Resilience Officer. As the Climate Change Resilience Officer, you will assist in delivering the Whitsundays Healthy Heart Project as funded by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
Essential
• C Class Drivers Licence
• Degree in Environmental Management, Climate Science, Natural Resource Management or Tourism
• Understanding of carbon footprint calculation methods and auditing requirements
• Ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders and coordinate resources
