Intake Officer - headspace Hervey Bay

We are currently seeking 1 part time Intake Officer
1 part time - 45 hours per fortnight

Key Role Accountabilities:
1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values.
2. Provide phone triage assessments for headspace Hervey Bay and headspace Maryborough through a centralised intake process to young people aged 12-25 years.
3. Maintain accurate case notes for clients using an electronic clinical record and according to headspace by WMQ protocols and professional standards.
4. Participate in care planning and case review meetings, contribute to care plans and participate in planned case conferences other health professionals involved in the client's care, as appropriate.
5. Promote and adhere to youth friendly practice principles.
6. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities provided by headspace National Office and Wesley Mission Queensland.
7. Maintain client privacy and confidentiality and adhere to duty of care requirements and other relevant legislation.
8. Adhere to appropriate standards of safety, welfare and health care for staff and young people within the headspace by WMQ service.
9. Comply with continuous clinical quality improvement activities to improve the service provision and outcomes for young people who access headspace by WMQ.
10. Ensure services are provided within the boundaries of the relevant Association's Code of Ethics.
11. Ensure compliance with all Wesley Mission Queensland policies and procedures.
12. Ensure that the service is compliant with all external regulators and contracts, including funding agreements.
13. Work in accordance with the electronic clinical record and associated information recording.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Requirements:
Essential:
1. Tertiary qualifications in community, social welfare, youth work, health or a related discipline.
2. Passionate about making a positive change in the lives of people managing mental illness.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the issues associated with living with a mental illness.
4. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment including being accountable for the effective delivery of client services.
5. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people.
6. Sound communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to engage, negotiate, advocate, collaborate and undertake joint innovative problem solving.
7. Demonstrated effective PC skills including MS Office and related applications packages (including reporting).
8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
9. Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.
