  • $108,419.00 per annum + superannuation

A specialist function is being created within WorkSafe that will focus on supporting the recovery and the social and work participation of long-term injured workers.

As a Recovery & Support Advisor, you will adopt a person-centred case management approach to proactively manage a portfolio of injured workers with complex needs, supporting each towards the best prospects of health and functional recovery. Whilst you will take primary responsibility for a portfolio, you will also work collaboratively with others in the division adopting a multi-disciplinary approach sharing your expertise and drawing on the expertise of others.

Key Accountabilities

You will manage a varied and complex caseload with input from specialist resources, on medical, psychological, physical and financial issues. More specifically the Recovery & Support Advisor will:

  • Develop trusted relationships with injured workers and their support networks (e.g. family, health providers)
  • Engage in regular face-to-face communication, including visits, with injured workers and their support networks as part of expectation-setting, the development of recovery plans, and facilitation of their recovery goals
  • Identify barriers to recovery and connect clients into a range of quality services (informal and formal) that maximise health, self-direction, social participation and work outcomes

About you

You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Case management within a personal injury, health or disability context. More specifically you have:

  • Experience in supporting people who have complex needs and demonstrated capacity to improve outcomes for clients
  • Ability to build rapport and empathy with injured workers and their support networks
  • The ability to handle challenging situations and to act in a professional and responsive manner
  • Contemporary attitude to case management which includes understanding and knowledge of long term injury and disability and its impact on individuals
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in case management, rehabilitation, nursing, medical and paramedical, vocational management, Allied Health, disability, social services or other relevant field
  • Vocational Management, (e.g. OT) Allied Health or industry equivalent experience or degree
  • Medical, social services or rehabilitation background
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s License
