About our client

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to supporting its customers 24/7, including overnights and weekends: supported Independent Living, Short Term Accommodation and Home & Community Support for children and adults. They aim to:

support their customers including children and adults, both in accommodation and short term/respite services, in an encouraging and safe environment
Promote the dignity and positive image of customers within the community
Facilitate customer communication and enhance their choice and decision-making processes

Due to ongoing roles being available a talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles. If a vacancy arises in your preferred location during this time, you may be contacted. From there a final decision will be made regarding whether to activate the talent pool.

About the roles

Our client is seeking hardworking and enthusiastic Community Support Workers to work across our client's sites in South Australia. Ideally (but not essential) you will be:

Experienced in dealing with high and problematic behaviours, as well as manual handling
Providing community inclusion and networking opportunities for customer and supporting customer's leisure activities
Flexible to work over a 7-day, 24-hour roster period including mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
Passionate about making a difference to our customers
Comfortable attending to the daily care needs of our customers
Support our customers to be empowered in their independence

So, what do you need to apply?

No formal qualification necessary; however, a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent experience is desirable
Strong communication skills
A compassionate and caring disposition essential
Good level of IT skills with the ability to use smart technology
Current SA Driver's Licence
Current DHS Disability Employment and Child Related Employment Screening & Working with Children Check (or willing to acquire)
Willingness to undergo psychometric assessment for our DCP children's services (if applicable)
Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003)
