Programmed Skilled Workforce have been contracted by an established disability and community based service who specialises in delivering registered NDIS Behaviour Support and Support Coordination.

About your new role

You will work with participants of all ages, abilities and their support structures to develop intervention plans and recommendations that will help to address challenging behaviours that get in the way of their flourishing.

You will consult, plan, develop and review participant outcomes in line with NDIS funding and plan goals to achieve real world change and outcome for the participant and those in their lives.

Of importance is your ability to connect and build rapport with people and to listen with non-judgment. Your aim is to support children and adults that may exhibit behaviours that challenge them and those in their lives on a daily basis.

Being able to connect and build secure relationships with families, carers, support staff and agencies is essential.

We are also looking at expanding service and providing counselling services to not only people accessing the NDIS but to the wider community.

Who are we looking for?

You could be an experienced Therapist (ABA or Behaviour) or a Social Worker, Psychologist, Counsellor, Human Services Professional or Special Needs/Early Childhood Teacher.

What's most important is your:

Capacity to engage with people in a respectful way.
You are passionate about creating a highly collaborative environment to deeply understand individual needs and responding with a person centred approach to improve the living experience of that person.
Adaptable, can do attitude to adjust to clients' needs and their NDIS plans.
Ability to use reflective practice to strengthen your clinical approach.
Current drivers licence, willingness/ability to travel to clients.

Skills and Experience:

Formal/tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, teaching education, special needs teacher, human services or related field.
Qualifications and/or experience in developing and delivering positive behaviour support, care plans, intervention plans, risk assessments etc.
Strong commitment to deliver evidence-based, functional behavioural outcomes
Meet the NDIS Capability Requirements for approval as a NDIS behaviour support practitioner
Self-Motivated with highly effective influencing skills
Refined stakeholder engagement skills and a deep understanding of the importance of stakeholder management
Open and transparent communicator and strong team player
Experience working with disabilities and/or applied behaviour analysis is preferred for this role but not essential
Australian Drivers Licence and own vehicle
