The Role
The QSuper Group Governance Division is seeking a driven and adaptable Senior Financial Crimes Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. The Division is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management framework (RMF) which supports the delivery of strategic objectives and meets the needs of multiple regulators and licensing regimes. The team works to facilitate and actively promote a positive risk and compliance culture through involvement in projects and change initiatives and providing risk and compliance advice to the business.

This role will be involved in overseeing the monitoring of member transactions for indications of money laundering, terrorism financing, internal and external fraud and reporting outcomes of these activities to Senior Management, the Boards and Sub-Committees, and Regulators as appropriate. Another key responsibility of the role is to complete quality assurance checks on financial crime monitoring assessments and reporting by other team members.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
The ideal Senior Financial Crimes Advisor will demonstrate some or most of the below:

  • Experience in implementing or maintaining AML/CTF Program controls, fraud controls, transaction monitoring and reporting to AUSTRAC
  • Knowledge of AML/CTF Act 2006 and Rules, and sanctions and foreign bribery laws
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies' (e.g. AUSTRAC, ASIC and APRA) policy and guidelines and regulatory expectations as relevant to financial crime matters
  • Knowledge of relevant standards for risk management and compliance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in leading and facilitating training is desirable
  • Ability to pragmatically utilise expert technical knowledge
  • Experience in the superannuation industry
