Greater Dandenong Libraries’ vision is connecting community to learn, engage and inspire. The two library branches in Dandenong and Springvale typically receive up to 1 million visitations annually. We offer a dynamic collection and virtual branch allowing 24/7 access to library resources and deliver an active programming and outreach model to the community.

There is an opportunity for a creative and passionate full-time Library Community Engagement and Innovation Officer to join our contemporary library service.

The role’s key objectives include:

  • Engaging key stakeholders in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Library Services programs and events
  • Developing and coordinated marketing activities including social media and online event promotion
  • Contributing to the development of innovative programs to support lifelong learning
  • Providing assistance in the strategic direction, forward planning and development of Library Services programs and events

The role also supports Library Service delivery including a weekly evening and monthly weekend shifts.

As a “Libraries After Dark” Library Service, we stay open until 10pm on Thursdays. This role will be required to work on rotation as required until 10pm on Thursdays.

As the successful applicant you will actively collaborate with key stakeholders and be a committed team member in the delivery of excellent service and working for continuous improvement. You will have capacity to interact effectively and positively with a diverse community, community groups and organisations, library and council staff.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.
