Sales Pond Pty Ltd is looking for Network / System Analyst who will be responsible for maintaining and improving computer systems for our organisation. This is an important role in our organisations to make sure our operations and all processes are smooth and secure. This role may required to work outside standard hours during upgrades or fixes, ensuring there is minimal interruption to the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defining and analyzing system problems; designing new frameworks and testing standards and solutions

  • Specify requirements for user and system interactions for our system

  • Designing current and to-be-state (future) process mapping

  • Defines application problems by conferring with users; evaluating procedures and processes.

  • Develop solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions.

  • Controls solution by establishing specifications and coordinating production with programmers.

  • Validates results by testing programs.

  • Provides feedback and reference by writing documentation.

  • Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

  • Maintaining and upgrading existing systems as required

  • Troubleshooting technical issues

  • Risk mitigation planning

  • Collaborating with the team to resolve issues and ensuring solutions are viable and consistent

  • Conducting regular reviews of systems and generating reports on efficiencies and improvement areas

Education, Experience, and Licensing Preferables:

  • Experience in system analyst for more than 4 years

  • Relevant education in computer science

  • Experience in IT or database administration a plus

  • Experience with Java GUI front-end development, SQL, Postgres, or equivalent database tools, Agile software development using JIRA, Zeek (formerly Bro), OS platforms with strong emphasis on Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu), Mac OS X, and Windows systems, scripting environment, such as Bourne shell

  • Experience working in a research environment that relies extensively on Open Source solutions

  • In-depth knowledge of the TCP / IP protocol suite; security architecture; securing and hardening Operating Systems; Networks; Databases; and Applications
