Job Description:

Precast concrete is a construction product produced by casting concrete in a reusable "form" which is then cured in a controlled environment, transported to the construction site and lifted into place. BDK is searching for qualified concretors who have experience in precast concrete work.

Position Purpose:

Concreters will be responsible for producing concrete panels for several different projects, with more to be signed in the foreseeable future.

Key area's of responsibility:

· Read building plans to determine what materials are required for a particular job and set out the materials that you are going to use.

· Cut and shape steel bars

· pour concrete usually over steel reinforcement, moving it into position using a pump or kibble.

· Housekeeping duties and general labouring as required

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

· Be in top physical condition

· Be able to read plans.

· Be proficient in operating equipment such as a vibrator, concrete motorised trowel, concrete screed etc

· Knowledge of carpenter tools and the ability to figure angles, level and square the forms

· Ability to operate independently and use initiative.

Hours of work

· Start time between 6am-8am depending on concrete delivery availability

· Finish time between 2:30pm-4:30pm

Job Type: Casual

Salary: $35.00 to $40.00 /hour

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Concrete Finishing: 2 years (Required)
• Construction: 2 years (Required)

Work Eligibility:

• Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (e.g. citizen, permanent resident) (Preferred)
