About the role

The Beauty & Brow Parlour now has a newly created opportunity for a HR Officer to join our Management team based in South Eastern Suburb on a part time basis 2 -3 days per week. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Officer will provide a high level of administrative support to the business and ensuring processes, policies and procedures are in place to capitalise on best practice methods.

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of contracts, letters and other employment-related documents
  • Participate in and drive HR projects as required
  • Induct all new employees into the business
  • Recruitment (including advertising, screening, interviewing, checking the work right, reference checking)
  • Assist in the development of HR systems
  • Assist with policy reviews from time to time
  • Coordinate training as required
  • Provide policy advice to staff as required
  • Looking after the health, safety and welfare of all employees
  • Ensure employees get paid correctly and on time
  • Leave and benefit administration
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance
  • Negotiating salaries, working conditions or redundancy packages with staff and their representatives.

Skills and experience

What we'd ideally like you to have:

  • A graduate Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant field such as HR management is required
  • A postgraduate qualification in HR management may be advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar HR role at least 1 year
  • Experience recruiting and onboarding new employees
  • Understanding of employment legislation
  • Excellent Word, Powerpoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to adapt within a changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Time management
  • Problem solving ability
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Background in payroll or an understanding of payroll will be advantageous
  • Be a team player

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year


  • 8 hour shift
