TJ’N’MAC recognises that it takes just one dedicated person, to forge a “Pathway to independence” for many and is seeking to employ disability support workers who are genuinely committed to advancing the choice and control of persons with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
− Support persons with disabilities in a manner that is positive, respectful, and empowering.
− Attend to personal care tasks, while maintaining professionalism and etiquette.
− Safeguard persons with disabilities by way of reviewing and providing supports which align to health care plan recommendations and guidelines.
− Support persons with disabilities to participate in community and centre-based activities of their choosing.
− Record an accurate account of daily support tasks, progress in achieving goals, and concerns that may have presented throughout the course of each day.
− Liaise with and provide supplementary support to families and carers.
− Respectfully engage in meaningful interactions with people of differing cultural backgrounds.
− Respond to all feedback and complaints, as per TJ’N’MAC’s policy and procedure, whilst upholding and promoting an ‘It’s OK to complain culture’.
Essential Requirements
− Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) HLTAID001
− Provide First Aid HLTAID003
− Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ certificate: Free online module (https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/training-course)
− COVID-19 infection control certificate: Free online module (https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covid-19-infection-control-training)
− Identification: Birth certificate.
Favorable Qualifications
− Certificate IV in Disability
− Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
− Certificate II in Community Services
− Working towards obtaining qualification within 12 months.
− Previous personal and/or professional experience in a caring role.
Job Type: Casual
Salary: $26.96 - $42.55 per hour
