About the role

EWB chapter members and volunteers play an invaluable role in contributing to EWB’s movement and message. In this role you will support chapters to ensure they are achieving quality in activity delivery and that these activities are strategically aligned to EWB’s organisational plan. EWB’s chapters are ambassadors for the organisation and the wider message of sector-change we aim for

You will be a key point person in the EWB National Office for general support to these volunteers, bringing in other teams and departments at EWB as relevant. You will work within EWB’s Education Team to support EWB student chapters within universities, and will play a key role linking these teams across Australia with the National Office as well as the rest of the volunteer movement.

You will coordinate with our regional chapters who are professionals facilitating the EWB network in their region, especially engaging the corporate sector and supporting activities, networking and mobilising volunteers onto EWB projects. The Outreach program is a core initiative for our chapters and corporate partners. You will work with colleagues including the volunteer Outreach Coordinator to support volunteers engaging with activities such as‘ Regioneering’, which fall under the program.

Ensure that EWB regional and university chapters are supported from inception, through the planning cycle from executive onboarding to annual planning and budgeting.
Support alignment of chapter activities with EWB’s organisational strategy including local partnerships, volunteer outreach, and the annual volunteer awards.
Ensure that chapters are connected to the people, collateral, resources and information they need to effectively run EWB fundraising activities, training and events.
Key contact point, facilitating easy communication, shared learning and flow of information through our network between chapters and National Office and including Knowledge Hubs and other key volunteer roles, including ensuring that chapter activities are recorded centrally in our CRM
Organising training for chapters, delivered on-line and with relevant staff, including management of an annual event for chapters to enable sharing of knowledge, resources, innovation and networking

Engineers Without Borders Australia (EWB) is a for-purpose organisation with our National Office and most of our Australian-based staff team located in Melbourne and volunteer chapters in Victoria, Western Australia, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and ACT. We also have offices in Cambodia, Timor L’este and Vanuatu.

EWB works within Australia and overseas to improve the knowledge and physical resources of people in need via grassroots engineering programs, capacity development, and sector leadership.
