JOB SUMMARY

This role is based in Victoria. As the field-based Clinical Lead (CL), this incumbent would work independently to design, develop and deliver customer training and on-site support to new and existing customers. The CL provides troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts by functioning as a subject matter expert to both internal and external customers. The CL role also provides territory coverage in supporting current ECP customers and

setting up of new centers across Australia where primary support and travel is required.

REPORTING

  • Reports to the National Clinical Manager with i ndirect reporting line to the Country Manager and Sales Managers
  • Supervise junior Clinical Specialists

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • The Clinical Lead will provide direct supervision and direction to junior Clinical Specialists.
  • Provides direction and assistance to junior Clinical Specialists in formulating KPI’s for the financial year.
  • Direct supervision and support of field-based clinical specialist team in execution of their roles and territories.
  • Achieves qualification/competencies required for the job on the Therakos Cellex device as a Customer within 6 months and an Expert Trainer within 18 months functioning as a subject matter expert for both internal and external customers.
  • Execution of training and sign off for the Clinical Specialists (CS) in Australia on the Therakos Cellex device.
  • Supervision of training and support for Australia on the Therakos Cellex device including all software rollouts, Successions programs and new device training and implementation.
  • Actively support, develop and present ECP training materials at successions training programs.
  • Identifiestheneedfor,defines,and develops training utilizing Mallinckrodt training instruments.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Mallinckrodt through regular meetings with clinical trainers and quality department as required.
  • Executes effective transfer of knowledge to customers during on site training.
  • Identifies and solves complex/unusual customer problems to advance sales initiatives.
  • Documents in Salesforce and provides written solutions to recurring problems.
  • Adopts the lead in managing trials, including design, training of customers and clinical monitoring.
  • Analyses therapy trends in the marketplace and communicates to necessary departments.
  • Provides detailed input/feedback to Account Managers regarding accounts and makes recommendations to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Travel and support to required customer sites.
  • Effective handling of customer complaints and concerns as well as providing timely feedback.
  • Interacts as a field expert with other functional areas of Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies to develop a thorough exchange of planning and information.
  • Transfers knowledge of therapeutic apheresis and blood component segment to other areas of the company i.e. sales, marketing, research to encourage development.
  • Provides phone support to customers during and after hours, including weekend on call.
  • Ongoing review of complaint handling processes in conjunction with account manager and technical services.
  • Provide clinical input on tenders and quotes as required.
  • Obtain CT3 sign off on Spectra Optia and Trima Accel devices as determined in consultation with direct line manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant technical or clinical experience or
  • Minimum 5 years of successful clinical support or relevant experience in a field sales or marketing environment

Skills:

  • Strong, demonstrated expertise in product and therapy knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to teach. Demonstrated self-confidence and effectiveness in dealing with a wide variety of student types.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop training programs and documentation.
  • Demonstrated and effective leadership skills.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with customers, physicians, nurses and technical staff.

A valid Driver’s License is required.
