The Role

We are currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, self-driven, experienced and highly motivated Chef to join our team at The Lord Alfred Hotel. 

Reporting directly to the Head Chef and part of the team; you will assist with responsibility for the cost effective management of the kitchen to maximise food profitability, whilst ensuring food safety standards and total guest satisfaction.

Your primary responsibilities will include;

• Assisting the kitchen team in a hands-on manner, ensuring consistent food quality
• Maintaining current knowledge on food trends and competitors
• Total compliance for WHS, food safety, company & legislated policies
• Setting, implementing and reviewing service standards to exceed guests expectations
• Maintaining safety & hygiene standards of the kitchen

Role Requirements

• Experience as a grill chef highly regarded
• Experience providing À la carte dining highly regarded
• Previous experience working in your current position in a busy, high volume kitchen
• Trade qualified
• Effective communication skills with hotel staff, management and suppliers
• Computer literacy with strong administration skills
• Flare, enthusiasm and passion to create quality dishes
