The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) is a member of the University's Senior Executive and has responsibility for enhancing the university’s performance and reputation in research, research training, and research collaboration with external stakeholders, nationally and internationally. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) is supported by the staff in the UQ Research and Innovation portfolio.

Units within the portfolio have responsibility to support the University's research community through strategic engagement with external stakeholders, funding organisations and research partners; international collaborations; grants management; research performance data management, research infrastructure management, and research ethics and integrity. Within the UQ Research and Innovation portfolio, the office of Sponsored Research provides administrative and strategic support in the key functional area of research grants administration.

About This Opportunity

As the Administration Officer, Grants, you will provide support in grant applications, interpreting Grant guidelines and post-award administration. Your duties will include:

  • Interpreting research grant guidelines and conditions of award
  • Providing advice to researchers
  • Drafting correspondence, forms and tables
  • Administering the pre- and post-award requirements of granting schemes
  • Undertaking compliance and data surveillance checks

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

As our ideal candidate, you will have experience in an Office Administration or similar role, a high level of computer proficiency and a practical understanding of administrative applications. You will have advanced skills in utilising word-processing, data storage and retrieval and spreadsheet software/programs.

Your well-developed analytical skills and strong attention to detail will enable you to interpret complex guidelines and procedures and your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will assist you in communicating with integrity, diplomacy and sensitivity.You must have ongoing unrestricted work rights in Australia to apply for this opportunity.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position at HEW level 5.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $70,796 - $78,852, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $82,832 - $92,257.
