Yurika has an exciting 22 month fixed term opportunity for a Commercial & Contracts Manager, based in Brisbane.

The Commercial & Contracts Manager role develops, negotiates, coordinates and manages all commercial and contract related matters across our Energy Infrastructure works portfolio to protect Yurika and Energy Queensland’s commercial interest throughout the entire project and contract lifecycle across multiple clients and projects. The role takes a proactive and pragmatic approach to the management of risk, contractual obligations and relationships between Yurika, Energy Queensland, clients and suppliers.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial & Contracts Manager with the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • Degree in construction management, economics, law, business or similar.
  • (Desirable) Diploma in project management or similar.
  • (Desirable) Current membership of Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (or ability to attain).
  • Demonstrated commercial experience managing large infrastructure fixed-price contract projects in a national competitive market.
  • Extensive knowledge of contracting and subcontracting principles, cost control, project controls, forecasting and risk management.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of contractual instruments and their application, including methods for resolving contractual disputes.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in technical project delivery sequencing, quantity surveying and ability to draft and execute high risk commercial contracts and identify and resolve contractual issues.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standard contracts for design and construct activities.
  • High level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an equivalent position.

The position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade Three ($159,611 to $175,753 per annum). The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
