The Role

Ventia are currently seeking an experienced Stores person to join their Defence Base Services contract to support operations throughout Darwin. This role would see you responsible for the warehouse and stores services across all Darwin Defence Bases.The incumbent will ensure compliance to statutory, legislative, Defence and company requirements for all Stores operations as directed by Venita Services management and be responsible for a number of direct reports.


Further you will:

  • Office furniture removals and deliveries
  • Carry out Base Mail delivery activities in accordance with the relevant regional data packs
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of base mail and its security whilst in transit
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of mail
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained and accurate at all times
  • Carry out daily operator level servicing required on nominated vehicles and maintain vehicle log books to reflect accurate condition
  • Maintain the clinical response vehicle in a clean and tidy condition ready for service (washing as required)
  • Identify maintenance requirements on vehicles and complete appropriate documentation
  • Liaise with members of the ADF in a professional manner


Skills and Experience

  • A thorough knowledge of Mail handling protocols including the application of Safe Hand
  • Have a sound understanding of materials handling practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • Valid Drivers Licence (C Class)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
