Position Summary: 

  • Manage and coordinate key initiatives and deliverables across all Epidemiology & Analysis teams as part of the department's response to COVID-19.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Senior Project Leads embedded within Epidemiology & Analysis pods. Each pod is responsible for a specific area of epidemiological investigation (e.g. healthcare, aged care, and education).
  • Provide strategic and operational support to teams investigating and analysing COVID-19 cases, contacts, outbreaks and genomics.
  • Provide high level project management and planning support across teams and play an active role in the continued uplift of these activities.
  • Actively build connections and improve communications between relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure the success of the department's response to COVID-19 in Victoria.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Epidemiology & Analysis Directors.
  • Manage, oversee and document the full life cycle of ongoing deliverables and in-scope projects across the Epidemiology & Analysis teams to meet departmental and branch objectives.
  • Alongside Epidemiology & Analysis managers, oversee and support the successful completion of projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Play an active role in resource management and recruiting personnel to key roles across the Epidemiology & Analysis teams.
  • Participate in research, analysis, and scoping of possible new projects or initiatives required by the branch and/or department.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present detailed status reports to executive leadership in order to communicate progress, highlight successes, resolve issues and overcome challenges faced by the Epidemiology & Analysis teams.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security, privacy and governance policies.
  • Oversee and provide leadership support to project staff who are embedded across the Epidemiology & Analysis teams.
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaborative partnerships.
  • Play an active role in supporting Epidemiology & Analysis leads to manage stakeholder relationships and enhance collaboration, clear communication and strategic alignment both within and across teams.
