Job Description

eCommerce Director 

OMD Melbourne has an exciting opportunity for a strategic performance marketer to join us in a newly created eCommerce leadership role. This senior-level, hands-on role is responsible for the executional delivery of a large team of cross-channel specialists and ensuring there is integration with client's own advertising and eCommerce.

This role is part of a core client team, responsible for senior client relationships with the required ability to demonstrate deep knowledge of acquisition strategies, eCommerce platforms, and the market, drawing on experience to provide thought leadership, innovation in strategy and best practice implementation.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in delivering omni-channel eCommerce media strategies, has extensive knowledge of eCommerce technology and analytics and the ability to identify revenue opportunities for agency services
  • Good at collaborating with others on solving problems and enthusiastic about helping others with the ability to coordinate the output of a diverse range of specialists, ensuring their output is integrated and measurable
  • Able to simplify & clarify the narrative in relation to technology and strategy for a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and pragmatic approach to delivering on key responsibilities
  • Passionate about media, advertising, and new technology, and is excited about learning
  • Capable of leading projects from start to finish while taking input from the rest of the team

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product & Innovation 

  • Development of omni-channel eCommerce media strategies that include client own channels, as well as paid media
  • Development of a measurement infrastructure to ensure all results are directly linked back to business performance
  • Support the Chief Digital Officer in evolving broader agency skillset in eCommerce

2. Client Management

  • Take a commercial perspective of the client's eCommerce goals and offer strategic recommendations, meeting the direction and required focus for the business
  • Proactively manage client engagement with structured engagement plans and oversight of eCommerce education and delivery vs targets

3. Commercial 

  • Act as eCommerce thought leader for internal teams and key senior clients
  • Ensure reporting quantifies the business value of the eCommerce strategy, along with rigorous media metric performance analysis

4. People Leadership 

  • Be responsible for assessing the training needs of your direct reports
  • Maximise team productivity by clear delegation to direct reports of all tasks
