This is not your standard production-line metal working job. The role is a career move that will showcase your talent, and offers the potential of expanding your creative skill set.

We are seeking a talented and imaginative person who can work with minimal supervision to create unique large-scale architectural signage. The customised manufactured products will be displayed in prominent public places that you will be able to walk past and be proud of for years to come.

Forte Signs is a well-established sign company based in Keysborough, Victoria. The company designs, manufactures and installs all types of signage for our retail, corporate and construction industry clients. We are seeking to enhance the effectiveness of our manufacturing process by appointing a metal fabricator who can utilise their creative skills to produce tailored solutions for our clients.

The Key Responsibility’s for this role are:

  • Reading and understanding technical drawings;
  • Be able to visualise finished product and provide creative input;
  • Conducting other processes such as guillotine, cutting, folding, rolling and drilling;
  • Arrange, weld and dress extrusions and sheet steel and aluminium assemblies in preparation for final finish processes;
  • Weld parts together using specified and appropriate machinery/equipment based on metal type and design ie: Mig and Tig;
  • Measure and verify final welded assembly dimensions and make adjustments where necessary to comply with specified tolerances;
  • Uphold all quality standards applicable to the responsibilities above;
  • Maintaining the metal workshop, while adhering to safety guidelines and practices.

To be successful, you will need to possess the following skills/attributes:

  • Trade qualification is ideal but not essential. If not qualified, 3-5 years hands on experience in the signage or related manufacturing industry is essential;
  • Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised;
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills;
  • An eye for detail and a creative flair
  • Focused on high standards of productivity and quality;
  • Be punctual and reliable in your attendance;
  • Own transport and driver’s license;
  • Forklift licence preferred but not essential.

Wage range between $32 - $38 per hour depending on experience, Overtime is available

The metal workshop is quite large, meaning staff are easily able to abide by Social Distancing regulations, and other State and Federal government required Covid-19 safety practices. The company also follows additional safety practices as per the Victorian Building and Construction Industry Guidelines.

Our Company operates with a Covid-19 Safety Plan.
